GENNARO LENDI WITH A 231 FUTURITY OPEN CHAMPION 4 YEAR OLD LEVEL 4
Kreuth. An exraordinary reining thriller with world class runs was on the schedule on saturday night in Kreuth's Ostbayernhalle.
The stands seemed to burst with excitement from the crowds. After a great run by Ann Fonck on GUNNERS SPECIALOLENA (Owner: Diego Dalla Gassa), which was rewarded with a score of 227.5, most people might have thought that this was it. They had already seen the winner of the 4 year old Futurity. But then came Germany's Dominik Reminder in the pen. He had saddled CALL ME MR VOODOO and the two gave everything they had. The crowd went wild as they showed excellent maneuvers and indeed managed to best Ann's score by half a point. But whoever thought that the games was over now was again proven wrong after the last drag break. Last to go in the final was Gennaro Lendi aboard COLONELS DANCING GUN. The pair rocked the show. The crowd went wild as Gennaro spectacularly guided his mount throught the pattern and when the winning score of 231 was announced he left arena standing on top of his saddle under the deafening roar of the crowd in the stands.
Dominik Reminder and CALL ME MR VOODOO became Reserve-Champion and Ann Fonck with GUNNERS SPECIALOLENA ended up third. „This was the best show ever“, was the bottom line the excited board members of NRHA Germany Joachim Zangerle and Gerd Wilhelm. Finals as thrilling as this are few and far between. It was fantastic.
